Purple Paws & Desert Trails: Why Connor Loves His Wagwellies Mojave Booties

Updated: Oct 7

If you’ve ever walked your dog on hot pavement, rocky trails, or rough desert terrain, you know just how tough those paws have to be. That’s why I’m all about the Wagwellies Mojave booties. My golden retriever Connor has been sporting these booties in a vibrant purple, and let me tell you, they’re paw-sitively amazing. Not only do they protect his feet, but they also look seriously stylish.

Connor is the kind of dog who loves to explore, whether it’s a neighborhood stroll or a hike through dusty trails. As much as I adore his golden coat and those soulful eyes, I don’t want rough ground to slow him down or worse, hurt his paws. The Mojave booties are tough and breathable, designed to handle everything from hot sidewalks to sharp gravel. Plus, the adjustable straps make sure they stay put, even during his fastest zoomies.

From my perspective as a groomer and photographer, healthy paws mean a happier pup and less stress during grooming sessions. When Connor is comfortable and confident, he’s easier to work with and way more photogenic. Honestly, those purple booties add a splash of personality that makes him stand out even more in photos, turning everyday walks into a mini fashion shoot.

If you’re thinking of trying booties on your dog, start slow. Let them sniff the booties and get used to the feeling by wearing them indoors first. Short walks on soft surfaces help build their confidence before tackling harder terrain. Just remember to check the fit snug enough to stay on but not so tight it cramps their style. And keep those booties clean; fresh paws are happy paws.

At the end of the day, Wagwellies Mojave booties have been a fantastic investment for Connor’s comfort and safety, and I’d recommend them to any dog parent. Plus, purple just happens to be his signature color now, which fits perfectly with his confident, adventurous spirit.

Which Wagwellies color do you think would suit your dog the best?

  • Pale Pink – Soft, sweet, and paw-dorable

  • Golden – For the pup who was born to shine

  • Chocolate – blending in with nature vibes

  • Sage – Soft, earthy, and effortlessly chic
